I’m a board certified pediatrician and IBCLC, and mother of two lovable crazy boys. I hope to empower caregivers and parents with evidence based medicine with a focus on fourth trimester care of the infant and mother, breastfeeding medicine, and gentle parenting.
10 truths about me:
1. My name has been mispronounced more times than I can count. It’s not too bad really- In-see-YAH.
2. I believe in the goodness of people, especially parents and caregivers.
3. Can’t decide if I am truly Illinois or California at heart.
4. I completely gave up all dairy (yes cheese and ice cream too) in addition to soy and egg for about 9 months each for both my sons’ health (They had MSPI). But now I’m back on dairy and so are they!!
5. My spirit animal is a deer.
6. Breastfeeding is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I breastfed my sons until they were 2, and hope to empower others to be able to reach their own personal breastfeeding goals.
7. I LOVE reading children’s books with my boys.
8. Snickers Ice Cream Bars must always be in my freezer.
9. I love to travel (yes even with 2 toddlers)! I’ve had the great opportunity to travel to over 40 countries over my lifetime.
10. I’ve always dreamed of taking care of kids and empowering women and families.
